Afghan Refugee Girl gunned down in Honor Killing, Jirga Head Evades Arrest

 

Girdi Jangal: The alleged killer Syed Muhammad is in Levies Force custody.

In a shocking incident that came to light through social media, an Afghan refugee girl was reportedly killed in an honor killing orchestrated by Jirga Head, Ahmad Shah Ishaqzai, in Girdi Jangal, an Afghan refugee camp situated in Chagai district. The alleged perpetrator behind the act, a young man, was allowed to go free after the Jirga imposed a penalty of Rs.2 million .


Official sources have confirmed that Chagai Levies, in collaboration with the Quick Response Force (QRF), launched a raid on several potential locations based on intelligence provided by the Levies Intelligence wing. As a result, Syed Mohammad, son of Bacha Mama and resident of Girdi Jungle, was apprehended. Mohammad is believed to be directly involved in the honor killing of his sister, Shakira.


Chagai Deputy Commissioner, Hussain Baloch, stated that the suspect has been transferred to the Chagai Levies Station for further investigation. Authorities anticipate making additional arrests of individuals suspected to be involved in the case. Meanwhile, Ahmad Shah, the Jirga Head responsible for ordering the honor killing, remains at large and is evading arrest.


The news of this brutal act has sparked outrage on social media platforms, with activists demanding the immediate arrest of Ahmad Shah and urging the administration to locate his whereabouts. In the absence of prompt action, they have threatened to organize protests to seek justice for the deceased girl.


Numerous political activists, tribesmen, and religious figures have also condemned the heinous act, emphasizing the need for justice. They join the chorus of voices calling for accountability and urging the authorities to ensure that those responsible for this tragic incident face the full force of the law.
